Joe Donut

I really want to like this place because the food is excellent- however - IMO, their very young and inexperienced floor staff need some additional training. 2 weeks in a row my order was either brought out wrong or they forgot syrup/butter, they ran out of silverware-both times (and it wasn’t even that busy) and they had tables available but needed to be cleaned so offered to have me sit at the only clean table which is in the back next to their storage area (see picture below) Again - this stuff happens sometimes - but I didn’t pay $20 to eat with plastic utensils next to a storage area. At least set up a curtain to cover up the area so it doesn’t look so unfinished. I like supporting local businesses so I am willing to give them one more shot in the coming weeks. Hopefully it will be a better experience.

This place is great! It's cafeteria style. You go up and order and take the number to your table. Staff will bring you your order. It's definitely a treat, not a place you can go daily. The portions are immense. The donuts 🍩 are delicious! So many kinds and reasonably priced. You can literally share any entree or make 3 meals of it. The biscuits and gravy were delicious. The biscuits are homemade on site, as are all of the donuts. They potato sides are crunchy and decadent. People were coming in droves to pick up boxes of donuts! Will have to do that myself. Definitely check it out! You will enjoy it!

Was pleasantly surprise about the whole experience inside of this lovely restaurant. The cashier was very helpful and knowledgeable about every item on menu. I just love that! He take his job very seriously! The food was great! The server was excellent! Will drive over here again to order Joe Donuts! Was pretty much all sold out that day. All in all will go back here again and I can't wait to try something else too. Thank you all again.

Too many young, inexperienced people running this place, it seams like the owners or upper management are not involved. Staff taking orders is lost and confused, they don’t know the menu (at least the girl helping me out). It was my first time there, my order was taken, when I asked questions about the menu the person helping me had no idea and she kept on asking the girl next register over. Also they don’t repeat your order back to you like it’s done at a lot of places which helps avoid order errors. Once I finished placing my order there was no thank you and no direction what to do further. The girl next register over looked miserable, I approached her because she had no customer and I asked a question about part of my order missing she answered but once again no sorry no thank you but annoyed that she even had to help me. My take out order was incorrect so I called the restaurant to speak with a manager. I wasn’t looking for anything free I just wanted to let them know that there needs to be more training, attention to detail or better process at the front. First thing manager said to me was “we can refund you money for the order” i explained that I’m not looking for free food and I would like for the process at the front to be fixed (so I can be a returning customer and obviously this improves them as a business). Managers response was “she probably didn’t hear you”. That is a prime example of inexperienced manager, you brush off the customer instead of reassuring that you are running a fantastic restaurant and any feedback matters and will be addressed. With that being said I will not be a returning customer. The food can be fantastic but if customer service is not there and it ruins the experience and atmosphere then it’s not for me. I will rather give my business to someone that cares.

2023 Update: I've ordered donuts for pickup, and now eaten breakfast in the dining area here. The staff has always been friendly, and the food is as good as the donut selection. I had the Sidecar Biscuits, which were awesome. The coffee was not the best; apparently by Big Shoulders, which I usually like. Other than that, I really like everything here. Sometime circa 2021: The food is decent, the service is pretty standard. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and sat at a table in the back. They brought the wrong sandwich and no condiments. I was in and out multiple times. The outdoor table area is kind of dumpy and there's no shade. I'll stick with donuts to go from here.
